La vague de départs des membres fondateurs se poursuit au niveau du Rewmi d’Idrissa Seck. En effet après Oumar Sarr, Oumar Gueye, Pape Diouf, Youssou Diagne, Nafissatou Diop, et Thierno Bocoum, voilà que ce parti vient de connaître une nouvelle défection.
Et cette fois, c’est à Pikine où l’ex député Samba Bathily, non moins coordonnateur départemental du Rewmi à Pikine et secrétaire général national chargé à l’organisation de ce parti, vient de démissionner pour mettre sur pied sa propre formation politique, dénommée le Parti de la convention des démocrates du Sénégal (Pcds). L’annonce a été faite lors d’une assemblée générale qui a connu une forte mobilisation au cours de laquelle l’ex responsable rewmiste a vertement critiqué la gestion de son ancienne formation politique.
Sur les motifs de son départ, note Walf, Samba Bathily explique : «Nous étions militants du parti. Nous avons constaté un manque de démocratie interne et un problème de management. Le leader du parti Idrissa Seck a légué le parti à un frère qui n’a pas d’expérience politique. Ce qui fait qu’il y avait beaucoup de complots contre les responsables qui travaillent et les populations de Pikine qui se sont toujours battues pour le parti. C’est pour cela que nous avons décidé, après cinq mois de gel de nos activités, de quitter définitivement pour créer une nouvelle formation politique afin de participer au développement de ce pays. Ce parti est un parti d’obédience libérale dénommé le Parti de la convention des démocrates du Sénégal(Pcds) qui va participer aux activités politiques du Sénégal et qui sera un acteur pour les prochaines échéances électorales».
Samba Bathily et ses frères de parti annoncent une série de tournées dans toutes les communes du Département de Pikine pour l’implantation de leur nouveau parti.
