Well, the cost of medical care has gone up, and not just because we have to pay more to subsidize the poor.I suppose you could blame the rich for the rising cost of chemotherapy, in that they donate their surplus money to research hospitals who develop expensive tests and treatments that the middle class end up getting and paying for. But there's so many forces acting on medical costs, I don't think it makes sense to try to try to tease out the effect of rising inequality.
