Ce, après les élections Législatives du 30 juillet prochain.
«La probabilité d’une cohabitation est très faible», a prédit l’enseignant-chercheur à l’Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (Ucad). Et d’ajouter : «Autrefois, ce qui rendait la cohabitation possible est que le président était élu pour 7 ans et l’Assemblée nationale 5 ans. Mais si on harmonise les mandats, à partir de ce moment, dit-il, la survenance d’une cohabitation devient très faible».
Un avis qui ne trouve pas l’assentiment de son collègue, à la Fac, Pr Abdoulaye Dièye. Pour ce dernier, dans des propos rapportés par Le Quotidien, «on n’a pas besoin de prévoir la cohabitation. Il faut surtout, la rendre impossible en organisant tout simplement les élections en même temps».
Ces éminentes matières grises s’exprimaient lors d’un panel sur les réformes institutionnelles organisé samedi, par le Groupe de recherche et d’appui-conseil pour la démocratie participative et la bonne Gouvernance (Gradec).
