Six pêcheurs ont perdu la vie dans le chavirement de leur pirogue entre Kayar et Notto Gouye Diama. L’accident est survenu dans la nuit du lundi au mardi, vers 4 heures du matin.
D’après les témoignages rapportés, il y a eu sept rescapés, les victimes étaient parties pêcher en haute mer. «Leur pirogue a chaviré au moment de leur retour. Et il n’y avait malheureusement pas de secours», regrette Abdoulaye Guèye, le président des pêcheurs de Kayar.
