Amadou Bâ souligne que l’Afd constitue aujourd’hui le reflet et un des moteurs du dynamisme de cette coopération avec son accompagnement dans la mise en œuvre des politiques de développement, en particulier dans les secteurs porteurs de croissance économique et à fort impact social.
En effet, dit-il, depuis la présentation du Plan Sénégal émergent (Pse) au Groupe consultatif de Paris en février 2014, l’Afd a accordé au Sénégal un financement cumulé de 775.089.137 euros, soit environ 508,4 milliards Fcfa, à travers 30 conventions de financement conclues, dépassant largement (180%) les engagements financiers de la France pour la mise en oeuvre du Plan d’actions prioritaires (PAP 2014-2018) du PSE.
