La campagne électorale démarre officiellement dans un mois, le 9 juillet prochain. Pendant 21 jours, les différents états-majors vont sillonner le pays pour convaincre les Sénégalais de voter pour leurs listes. Dans la coalition Manko Taxawu Sénégal, en l’absence de Khalifa Sall en prison, c’est Mansour Sy Djamil qui va diriger la campagne, sans doute en compagnie des ténors de la coalition, Idrissa Seck (tête de liste à Thiès), Malick Gakou (tête de liste à Guédiawaye), Idrissa Diallo (tête de liste à Pikine).
