Les pères de familles qui ont été licenciés du Hcr menacent de s’immoler. Pour ces travailleurs qui ont saisi la section sénégalaise d’Amnesty international et le médiateur de la République, ils sont abandonnés à leur sort. Pour rappel, ils sont trois Sénégalais qui se disent victimes d’un licenciement abusif de la part de la délégation du Haut commissariat des Nations unies pour les réfugiés à Dakar.
Ils ont commis Me Ndiogou Ndiaye pour le combat devant lestribunaux, mais ontsaisi en outreAmnesty et le médiateur, en plus du Président de la République et la première dame. Sur leur situation, Maguette Diagne, Ismaïla Diémé et Assane Diagne déclarent qu’après avoir comptabilisé 20 ans de service au Hcr, ils ont été licenciés sans droit à une indemnité compensatrice. Depuis lors, ils courent derrière ce droit et se battent pour la survie et celle de leurs familles.
Au nom de ces trois compatriotes qui sont sans aucunes ressources depuis ce licenciement, Me Ndiaye a saisi Amnesty international d’une requête visant l’organe des Nations unies qui est aussi, avec cette affaire, sous le coup d’une autre procédure devant la justice américaine. En informant l’organisme de défense des droits humains du cas des Sénégalais concernés, qui ont adressé une lettre au médiateur de la République, Me Alioune Badara Cissé, Me Ndiogou Ndiaye a saisi la justice sénégalaise et rappelé que l’indemnité de licenciement est prévue parlestextes et doit être payée à ses clients par le Haut commissariat des Nations Unies pour les Réfugiés».
Si le membre du barreau sénégalais a agi de la sorte, explique-t-il dans sa correspondance à Amnesty, c’est qu’«à ce jour, les victimes de licenciement n’ont reçu aucun franc en guise de compensation des 20 ans de services passés au Hcr». Maintenant que toutes les voies ont été épuisées, Maguette Diagne et Cie n’écartent pas le sacrifice suprême. Assane Diagne qui n’a pas tenu le coup est décédé entre temps, laissant derrière lui une famille sans moyens.
