Faisant hier une communication en Conseil des ministres autour de l’entretien durable et la gestion de la nouvelle infrastructure sportive et socioculturelle dénommée « Arène Nationale », le président de la République a confirmé que cette infrastructure est un don de la République populaire de chine pour un montant de 32 milliards de FCFA, avant de se féliciter de la réception des clefs de cette infrastructure des mains du Président XI Jinping.
Il a donc remercié la Chine pour ce don, félicité le ministre des Sports, le CNG et l’ensemble des lutteurs et amateurs pour la mobilisation collective et solidaire lors de la réalisation de cet ouvrage ainsi que pour la bonne organisation de la cérémonie de remise des clefs de ce « bijou architectural emblématique de l’étroitesse et l’exemplarité de la coopération sino-sénégalaise et qui constitue une référence, par sa spécificité, en Afrique et dans le monde ».
Par ailleurs, Macky Sall a demandé au Gouvernement, en relation avec tous les sportifs, les acteurs de la lutte notamment, de réfléchir sur le meilleur mécanisme de gestion pour assurer l’entretien et la pérennité de cette infrastructure d’envergure, qui contribue au renforcement des équipements urbains dans les départements de Pikine et Guédiawaye, au développement global du sport au Sénégal et à l’épanouissement de la jeunesse.
