Le secrétaire général du ministère du Pétrole et des Energies, Pape Bitèye, assure que la nouvelle politique énergétique du Sénégal tend vers “une parfaite disponibilité des produits, les meilleurs prix et un accès universel aux services modernes”. Il ajoute que les ambitions des pouvoirs publics sénégalais, telles que déclinées dans le Plan Sénégal émergent (Pse), portent sur la réduction du coût de production de l’électricité, la diversification des sources de production, l’utilisation accrue d’autres sources telles que les énergies renouvelables, le gaz naturel, l’hydro-électrique et le charbon.
“Ces ambitions portent également sur l’accélération de l’électrification rurale, pour atteindre l’accès universel en 2025, l’introduction progressive des énergies renouvelables avec l’objectif d’atteindre 30% de la puissance installée à partir des énergies renouvelables”, a soutenu le Sg lundi du ministère du Pétrole et des Energies.
Il a aussi évoqué “la sécurisation de l’approvisionnement du pays en hydrocarbures, avec la mise en place des conditions de baisse des coûts”, ainsi que “l’amélioration de la qualité des produits de la recherche”. “Les récentes découvertes de pétrole et de gaz, combinées au développement fulgurant des énergies renouvelables, permettront de s’affranchir de la tyrannie du pétrole et de baisser drastiquement les coûts de production”, a estimé Pape Bitèye.
Selon M. Bitèye, dans le domaine du transport et de la distribution, “357 milliards de francs CFA sont à mobiliser d’ici 2020 pour la mise aux normes et l’extension des réseaux de transport et de distribution de SENELEC”.
