Six corps sans vie et 19 rescapés ont été dénombrés dans la nuit de vendredi à samedi suite à un chavirement d’une pirogue dans un cours d’eau à Fahoye dans la commune de Djilas en région de Fatick.
C’est en provenance de Dakar avec une dépouille mortelle, les victimes de ce chavirement ont embarqué à Fahoye à bord de deux pirogues pour se rendre à l’Ile de Sakhor dans la commune de Loul Séssène.
Une des pirogues avait à bord une dépouille mortelle et l’autre transportait 25 personnes venant de Dakar composées de parents et amis.
C’est au bout de quelques minutes de trajet que la deuxième pirogue qui suivait celle de la dépouille va chavirer avec à son bord plusieurs personnes.
De là, une alerte a été donnée pour déclencher des recherches avec les habitants de ces Iles et le concours des sapeurs pompiers.
Ce qui a permis de sauver 19 des passagers et de retrouver les corps sans vie avant de les déposer à la morgue de l’hôpital régional de Fatick.
