La campagne «Octobre Rose» est lancée. Le thème de cette édition porte sur «la place de mammographie dans la détection précoce du cancer du sein».
L’objectif que s’est assigné la Ligue sénégalaise contre le cancer (Lisca) pour cette année est d’arriver à dépister 3000 femmes. Pour y parvenir, il sera question de rassembler les personnes physiques et morales en vue d’avoir une synergie d’action.
Selon le journal «Libération», lu par Actunet.net, de 2010 à 2016, 7669 femmes à Dakar et dans les régions ont bénéficié de la subvention de la mammographie.
Pour la formation thérapeutique, ils ont été pris en charge en 2015, 55 en 2016 et 120 en 2017. Il y a 81% des dépenses en chimiothérapie.
«Nous demandons donc la gratuité des thérapies», a plaidé la présidente de la Lisca, Dr Fatma Guénone. Selon elle, 300 personnes ont également bénéficié d’attention pour leur donner l’espoir qu’elles peuvent guérir.
Pour la Lisca, le coût du traitement du cancer est exorbitant, en moyenne deux millions, dans un pays où la majorité de la population ne bénéficie pas d’assurance maladie ni de sécurité sociale.
