Le Cadre de concertation libéral présidé par Mohamed Samb se réjouit de la mediation entreprise par le directeur régional d’Amnesty International de l’Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre Alioune Tine qui a offert ses bons offices afin que le projet de réforme allant dans le sens d’instaurer le parrainage intégral dès la prochaine election presidentielle ne grippe pas davantage le processus electoral. Alioune Tine, après avoir rencontré le président Macky Sall qui lui a donné son aval, a entrepris de prendre langue avec l’opposition. Dans l’optique d’aboutir à une decrispation, sur la base d’un accord consensuel.
Mohamed Samb estime que “cette initiative est louable en ce sens qu’elle permettra de dépasser un débat marqué par une certaine forme d’irrationnalité, eclipsant les questions programmatiques de fond qui devraient être les plus en vue à la veille d’une election presidentielle”. Au demeurant, le président du cadre de concertation libéral souscrit entièrement à la loi sur le parrainage. Il assure, à ce propos, qu’elle permettra de rationnaliser de manière optimale l’organisation des futurs scrutins presidentiels. Il note, toutefois, qu’il est “de bon ton que l’opposition ait son mot à dire sur cette question qui la concerne autant qu’elle concerne le pouvoir en place”.
“Le Sénégal a atteint une maturité démocratique telle qu’il est hors de question d’imposer des reformes, fussent-elles eminemment constructives, sans que les Sénégalais, de tous horizons, n’y soient associés d’une manière ou d’une autre. D’où l’intérêt de recueillir en amont les observations de l’opposition sur l’instauration de la loi sur le parrainage qui, quoi qu’en puissent dire ses détracteurs, ne fait que renforcer la République et la démocratie” laisse-t-il entendre.
