Le policier qui avait giflé un motocycliste à la gare routière de Ziguinchor a été relevé ‘’pour purger une sanction disciplinaire en attendant d’autres mesures qui seront prises à son encontre’’, a annoncé samedi la Police.

‘’Dans la journée du 23 février, aux environs de 18h30, un motocycliste a été interpellé par un agent de police au niveau de la gare routière de Ziguinchor, pour défaut de casque. Une altercation s’en est suivie au cours de laquelle, l’agent de police a giflé l’intéressé’’, rappelle le Bureau des relations publiques de la Police nationale dans un communiqué reçu à l’APS.

‘’Informé de cet incident, le ministre de l’Intérieur a vivement déploré et regretté cette attitude inqualifiable’’, indique la même source, ajoutant que ‘’l’autorité de police a immédiatement après, fait relever l’agent concerné pour purger une sanction disciplinaire en attendant d’autres mesures qui seront prises à son encontre’’.

Dans le communiqué, le ministre de l’Intérieur ‘’rappelle, qu’en toutes circonstances, le citoyen doit être traité dans le respect de ses droits’’.
