Au Sénégal, on dénombre 10.047 détenus dans les 37 établissements pénitentiaires.
Le chiffre est du Garde des Sceaux, ministre de la Justice, Ismaïla Madior Fall lors d’une visite dans les maisons d’arrêts et de Correction (Mac) de la région de Dakar.
Une occasion pour le ministre de faire savoir que les détenus dans les différents établissements pénitentiaires vivent dans des conditions acceptables en saluant les conditions de détention et les améliorations qui ont été apportées.
«Les établissements pénitentiaires du Sénégal sont, pour l’essentiel sur des standards très importants. Il y a des choses intéressantes et positives qui se font dans les établissements pénitentiaires et qui ne sont pas très connues», a déclaré Ismaïla Madior Fall dans le journal «Sud Quotidien», lu par Actunet.net.
