Tous les détenus du Sénégal sont suivis par 4 médecins. La révélation est de l’Association pour le soutien et la réinsertion sociale des détenus (ASRED) qui précise que pour les 3000 détenus qui sont répartis dans les 37 établissements pénitentiaires du pays, il n’y a que 4 toubibs pour les consulter et les soigner en cas de maladie. L’Association pour le soutien et la réinsertion sociale des détenus (ASRED) au Sénégal d’ajouter : «il n’y a que 4 médecins pour plus de 3000 détenus dans les trente sept établissement que compte le pays.“
L’Asred a fait savoir dans son texte que «la recrudescence des morts dans les prisons sénégalaises est due en grande partie aux mauvaises conditions de détentions». Pour pallier à ces maux, l’Asred lance un appel aux députés de la XIIIe législature à «voter cette loi tant attendue qui permettra enfin aux magistrats d’élire par vote le procureur de la République»
