Les rapports sexuels sont interdits pendant les journées du Ramadan aussi bien à l’homme qu’à la femme ayant l’obligation de jeûner. S’ils violent cette interdiction, ils commettent un péché et doivent procéder à une expiation.
L’expiation consiste à affranchir un esclave ou à jeûner deux mois de suite ou à nourrir soixante pauvres.
Abou Hourayra (P.A.A) a dit : « Nous étions assis un jour autour du Prophète (bénédiction et salut soient sur lui) quand un homme se présenta à lui et lui dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah ! J’ai péri ! »
– Qu’est-ce qui t’est arrivé ?
– J’ai couché avec ma femme alors que j’observais le jeûne (du Ramadan)
– As-tu un esclave à affranchir ?
– Non.
– Peux-tu jeûner deux mois de suite
– Non.
– Peux-tu nourrir soixante pauvres ?
– Non.
Le Prophète (bénédiction et salut soient sur lui) marqua alors une pause. A ce moment, on lui amena un grand sac de dattes et il dit :
– Où est l’auteur de la question ?
– Me voici.
– Prends cei et fais-en une aumône.
– Au profit de quelqu’un de plus pauvre que moi,
ô Messager d’Allah ? Au nom d’Allah ! Il ne vit pas entre ces deux (Labba) quartiers (de Médine) une famille plus pauvre que la mienne.
Le Prophète (bénédiction et salut soient sur lui) éclata de rire au point de laisser se découvrir ses molaires. Et puis il dit :
– Fais-en une nourriture pour ta famille » (rapporté) par al-Boukahri ; 1834 et 1835 et par Mouslim, 1111.
Deuxièmement, il est bien permis d’avoir des rapports intimes au cours des nuits du Ramadan. Cette permission s’applique jusqu’à l’aube. Après l’entrèe de celle-ci, elle prend fin.
Le très Haut dit : « On vous a permis, la nuit d’ as-Siyâm, d’ avoir des rapports avec vos femmes; elles sont un vêtement pour vous et vous êtes un vêtement pour elles. Allah sait que vous aviez clandestinement des rapports avec vos femmes. Il vous a pardonné et vous a graciés. Cohabitez donc avec elles, maintenant, et cherchez ce qu’ Allah a prescrit en votre faveur; mangez et buvez jusqu’à ce que se distingue, pour vous, le fil blanc de l’ aube du fil noir de la nuit. Puis accomplissez le jeûne jusqu’à la nuit. Mais ne cohabitez pas avec elles pendant que vous êtes en retraite rituelle dans les mosquées. Voilà les lois d’ Allah: ne vous en approchez donc pas (pour les transgresser). C’ est ainsi qu’ Allah expose aux hommes Ses enseignements, afin qu’ ils deviennent pieux! » (Coran, 2 : 187). Le verset précise qu’il est permis de manger, de boire et d’avoir des rapports intimes au cours des nuits du Ramadan jusqu’à l’aube.
Après avoir eu des rapports sexuels, il faut prendre un bain et accomplir la prière de l’aube. Allah le sait mieux.
