Le prix du kilogramme de sucre raffiné en poudre au Sénégal est resté stable à son niveau du mois d’avril 2017, s’échangeant à 608 FCFA (environ 0,97 dollar).
Dans sa publication du mois d’août 2017, l’Organisation internationale du sucre (ISO) a estimé sa prévision d’excédent de sucre à 4,6 millions de tonnes pour la campagne 2017-2018, contre des déficits évalués à 3,6 et 5 millions de tonnes, respectivement, pour les campagnes 2016- 2017 et 2015-2016.
En dépit des hausses enregistrées en janvier et février 2017, le cours du sucre blanc a poursuivi sa tendance baissière, amorcée depuis octobre 2016, en rapport aux conditions de production favorables des principaux pays producteurs.
En variation mensuelle, il a baissé de 0,6% au mois d’août 2017. De même, en glissement annuel, le cours du sucre blanc a reculé de 2% sur les huit premiers mois de 2017.
