C’est une grande première en France : une femme de 30 ans a bénéficié d’une greffe simultanée des deux bras. Ses deux membres avaient été sectionnés par un train après une chute en gare de de Chambéry (Savoie), le 14 août dernier.
UNE “PROUESSE CHIRURGICALE”
La patiente a été transportée au Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Grenoble Alpes (CHUGA) et ses bras ont été conservés dans “un conditionnement parfait”, précise un communiqué de l’hôpital relayé par Le Dauphiné. L’opération, couronnée de succès, a débuté deux heures après l’accident, a réquisitionné deux équipes médicales et a duré près de quatre heures. “La rapidité d’intervention des secours et la dextérité de l’équipe médicale ont permis de réimplanter les deux membres sectionnés, et de donner à la patiente le maximum de chance de récupération”, explique l’hôpital. En effet, “un délai trop important entre le traumatisme et la réimplantation peut entraîner des lésions irréversibles”, peut-on lire.
Malgré la réussite de l’intervention, qualifiée de “prouesse chirurgicale”, la récupération fonctionnelle de la patiente sera longue et prendra plusieurs mois. Une conférence de presse détaillant le déroulement de l’opération est organisée ce vendredi 25 août.
