Or, les veines contiennent dans leurs parois des cellules musculaires qui doivent se contracter pour faire remonter le sang des jambes vers le cœur. Lorsque ces parois sont moins toniques, le sang a du mal à remonter et il a tendance à stagner dans les membres inférieurs. Les médecins parlent de stase veineuse. Cette sensation de jambes lourdes peut être l’un des premiers signes de l’insuffisance veino-lymphatique qui touche plus d’une femme sur deux, plus encore celles qui restent assises une grande partie de la journée.
