Sur les écrans français à partir de ce mercredi, un film de voyage qui nous entraîne en Afrique de l’Est, du Kenya au Malawi. Dans « Gabriel et la montagne », le jeune cinéaste brésilien Fellipe Barbosa filme les derniers jours de son ami, disparu en 2009 au terme d’un voyage de cinq mois dans la région des Grands Lacs.
C’est un beau témoignage d’amitié doublé d’une entreprise hors du commun : reconstituer les 70 derniers jours du voyage de Gabriel Buchmann, étudiant brésilien de 28 ans, mort de fatigue et de faim, au pied du mont Mulanje, au Malawi, l’un des plus hauts sommets du continent.
