L’Association sénégalaise des éditeurs (ASE) prépare une “rentrée littéraire” au plus tard en début 2018, avec l’ambition d’annualiser cette manifestation, a annoncé, mercredi, sa présidente, Aminata Sy, par ailleurs directrice des Nouvelles éditions africaines du Sénégal (NEAS).
“Nous nous sommes réunis avec les éditeurs et les écrivains pour voir comment organiser une rentrée littéraire au Sénégal comme cela se fait en France, pourquoi pas nous ? Et on va essayer d’instaurer cela chaque année”, a-t-elle annoncé.
La rentrée littéraire ainsi projetée va se tenir dans le cadre de l’initiative des pouvoirs publics sénégalais faisant de 2017 “l’année de la culture’’, a souligné Mme Sy, dans un entretien avec l’APS, en marge d’un atelier de l’ASE sur le thème ’’Edition imprimée et édition numérique : développement et enjeux’’.
Elle a précisé qu’aucune date n’a encore été retenue pour cette rentrée littéraire. “Nous sommes en train de voir s’il faut le faire en fin d’année ou juste au début de l’année 2018”, a-t-elle indiqué.
Aux yeux de l’Association sénégalaise des éditeurs, une rentrée littéraire “est une nécessité pour promouvoir la chaîne du livre, dire aux autres que nous existons, mais aussi pour discuter des problèmes dans l’édition, du coût du livre dans notre pays’’ par exemple.
“Nous aurons l’occasion de parler de la commercialisation, la diffusion, la promotion de la lecture, mais aussi ce sera une tribune pour redonner goût à la lecture”, a poursuivi Mme Sy.
