Le vidéaste congolais Ori Huchi Kozia a reçu le Prix Orisha 2017, destiné à favoriser la reconnaissance par les professionnels d’un artiste d’Afrique subsaharienne, a-t-on appris mercredi auprès des organisateurs.
Ori Huchi Kozia a été récompensé par un jury international pour une oeuvre de 2016 intitulée “Moudoumango” en référence à une créature issue de la mythologie de l’ancien royaume du Kongo.
“L’oeuvre présentée revisite la question du mythe et de ses archétypes dans un univers où la technologie côtoie la misère”, selon un communiqué.
Le Prix Orisha, dont c’est la deuxième édition, est doté de 2.000 euros. Les oeuvres du lauréat sont exposées à Paris au sein de l’espace Appartement et/ou dans une galerie partenaire.
