Le franc CFA présente plus d’avantages que d’inconvénients pour les pays membres de la zone de l’Union économique monétaire ouest africaine (UEMOA) a soutenu, dimanche à Dakar, le ministre de l’Economie , des Finances et du Plan, Amadou Ba.

Le ministre sénégalais s’exprimait en marge de la visite de son homologue français Michel Sapin, à la maison du Train Express Régional située à l’ancienne gare ferroviaire de Dakar.
“Il n’y a pas de honte à avoir une monnaie commune”, déclare Amadou Ba, citant l’exemple de l’Union européenne avec sa monnaie, l’Euro.
Selon lui, “il n’y a pas un pays sous développé ou un pays qui aspire à l’émergence, dont la monnaie n’est pas définie par rapport à une monnaie internationale reconnue”.
“Ce n’est pas possible !, s’est-t-il exclamé, renseignant que “les monnaies de nos pays sont reconnues par rapport à l’euro, au dollar…, une condition pour être membre du fameux comité international”.
Le ministre de l’Economie, des Finances et du Plan a par ailleurs fait savoir que “tous les outils montrent aujourd’hui que la parité du FCFA est exactement ce qu’elle devrait être”.
Il également martelé qu’”une dévaluation n’est pas à l’ordre du jour dans le moyen terme”.
