Ces fonds proviendraient de l’argent détourné dans les années 1990 par le dirigeant militaire Sani Abacha, et qui, récemment, ont été restitués par les autorités suisses.
Ainsi, 300 000 familles vont bénéficier d’un versement mensuel de 14 dollars (7 855 F Cfa), rapporte bbc.com.
Cependant le mode de distribution laisse perplexe certaines opinions. Ces dernières pensent que ceci est sous-tendu par la volonté d’acheter la conscience de ces ménages pour les élections à venir, explique bbc.com.
