La cour d’assises des Hautes-Alpes a condamné vendredi soir Axel Maaziz, âgé de 33 ans, à 30 ans de réclusion criminelle pour des actes de prédation sexuelle envers des enfants et des jeunes femmes, et une tentative de meurtre d’une fillette.
Ce verdict, conforme aux réquisitions de l’avocat général Raphaël Balland et énoncé après plus de six heures de délibéré, vient clore un procès de cinq jours à huis clos au tribunal de Gap. Axel Maaziz a été reconnu coupable d’enlèvement et de tentative de meurtre d’une fillette de 7 ans, en 2014 à l’Argentière-la-Bessée dans les Hautes-Alpes.
A l’époque, il avait immobilisé la fillette à l’aide d’un pistolet à impulsions électriques puis l’avait embarquée à bord d’une voiture. La petite fille avait réussi à prendre la fuite et à prévenir les gendarmes, qui avaient relevé sur son cou des traces de strangulation. L’accusé, qui a reconnu l’enlèvement, a toujours nié avoir tenté de la tuer.
