Le Président Macky Sall fait partie des rares hommes politiques qui n’ont pas eu la chance d’avoir poursuivi leurs études en Europe et principalement en France. Etudiant, il n’est jamais sorti du pays et a eu tous ses diplômes dans ce haut temple du savoir qui porte le nom de l’illustre professeur et égyptologue Cheikh Anta Diop. Et, comme le rappelle actunet, voici un parfait exemple de réussite qui se rappelle des moindres détails du campus social qui l’a accueilli.
Après l’obtention du Bac C (devenu S1), Macky Sall, élève de la terminale TC2C du lycée Gaston Berger de Kaolack rejoint l’Université Cheikh Anta Diop à la suite de son admission à l’Institut des Sciences de la Terre (IST). C’est à partir de décembre 1982 qu’il logea au Pavillon A, précisément à la chambre 168A pendant 2 ans et réussit brillamment son CPEST1 et 2 (Cours Préparatoires aux Etudes en Sciences de la Terre). Ceci lui donna alors droit à une chambre au tout nouveau pavillon H. Il y occupe la chambre 46H pendant 3 ans et réussit avec brio ses 3 années d’IST (IST1, IST2 et IST3) avec 40 heures de cours par semaine et obligation d’avoir la moyenne sur toutes les matières sous peine de redoublement !
C’est cet ancien étudiant de l’Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (Ucad) 
devenu Président qui nous fait ici l’honneur d’apporter des précisions concernant sa chambre d’étudiant, en esquissant même de sa main, un plan du campus social d’alors. Nous sommes allés recueillir ces informations pour en avoir le cœur net car, 80% des participants à ce jeu ont répondu 52H. Contrairement à ce qu’on raconte, c’est bien avec son diplôme d’Ingénieur Géologue en poche (et non en tant qu’étudiant) que Macky a rejoint le Parti démocratique sénégalais (Pds) à la suite du fameux appel aux cadres lancé par Maitre Abdoulaye Wade, Secrétaire Général National.
