Au RPT/UNIR (le parti présidentiel) c’est la panique totale, s’exclame encore Liberté. À défaut de pouvoir tenir encore des contremarches, la réponse se résume à chanter la paix, comme depuis le début des manifestations populaires drôlement conçues comme une menace à la paix. Si seulement, soupire Liberté, les comportements du pouvoir pouvaient suivre cette vertu chantée dans les rangs des ennemis du peuple !»

Le Monde Afrique note pour sa part qu’hier «à Lomé, l’un des leaders historiques de l’opposition, Jean-Pierre Fabre, a réagi à l’annonce faite la veille au soir par le gouvernement, affirmant prendre ‘toutes les dispositions nécessaires pour l’ouverture d’un dialogue avec l’ensemble de la classe politique togolaise’. ‘Nous sommes favorables au dialogue et nous l’avons toujours dit (…) mais pour discuter des conditions de départ de Faure Gnassingbé’, a dit Jean-Pierre Fabre. Un préalable difficilement acceptable pour le pouvoir en place. Dans le même communiqué, le gouvernement – répondant à ‘son souci de promouvoir un climat de paix et de cohésion sociale’ – avait également annoncé la libération de quarante-deux personnes jugées et condamnées dans le cadre des récentes manifestations de rue.» En tout cas, «l’opposition appelle à de nouvelles manifestations mercredi et jeudi.»
