Bala Alassane Sakandé, précédemment président du groupe parlementaire Mouvement du peuple pour le progrès (MPP, au pouvoir) a été élu, vendredi, président de l’Assemblée nationale du Burkina Faso, en remplacement du Dr Salifou Diallo, décédé en plein mandat le 19 août 2017 à Paris.Cadre supérieur de banque, Bala Alassane Sakandé, 48 ans, était l’unique candidat à la présidence de l’Assemblée nationale du Burkina Faso.
Parmi les 127 députés votants, 104 ont voté en faveur du député Sakandé, 19 se sont abstenus tandis que deux autres ont voté contre lui. Il y a eu deux bulletins nuls.
Bala Alassane Sakandé occupait depuis le début de la législature en décembre 2015, le poste de président du groupe parlementaire MPP qui compte 55 députés.
M. Sakandé est considéré comme un fidèle lieutenant du président Roch Kaboré depuis l’époque (dans les années 1995) où ils travaillaient ensemble à l’ex Banque internationale du Burkina (BIB).
