L’armée ivoirienne a découvert une importante cache d’armes à Abidjan, a annoncé mercredi à l’AFP une source au sein de l’état-major, alors que la Côte d’Ivoire est secouée par une crise sécuritaire depuis plusieurs mois.
Deux lance-roquettes RPG, des kalachnikovs, des fusils-mitrailleurs, des munitions et des explosifs en quantité ont été saisis mardi dans un gymnase désaffecté du quartier populaire d’Attiécoubé, selon cette source. Les soldats ont également découvert du matériel de communication, des fausses plaques minéralogiques de véhicules administratifs et militaires et “au moins 300 treillis”.
“C’est vraiment un arsenal”, a déclaré cette source.
Des badges estampillés “Mouvement guerrier pour la dignité et la justice en Côte d’Ivoire”, un groupe inconnu, ont également été retrouvés avec les armes.
“Quatre personnes ont été interpellées”, a indiqué la source. Une enquête est en cours pour tenter de trouver la provenance des armes.
De nombreuses armes ont été volées depuis trois mois par des hommes armés non identifiés dans une série de braquages de commissariats de police et de postes de gendarmerie à travers le pays.
La dernière attaque de ce type s’est produite mardi: des hommes armés ont mis en fuite les policiers d’un commissariat d’Abobo, un autre quartier populaire d’Abidjan, et se sont emparés d’armes avant de prendre la fuite sans être inquiétés.
La Côte d’Ivoire a aussi été secouée cette année par des mutineries d’anciens rebelles intégrés à l’armée.
Plusieurs évasions de prisonniers se sont produites en outre depuis le mois août.
