George Weah est élu président de la République du Liberia. Il est le premier Africain à avoir remporté le Ballon D’Or et le Joueur Mondial de la FIFA de l’année. L’homme a gagné de manière globale en remportant 12 des 15 comtés du pays ouest-africain.

Son adversaire Joseph Boakai, qui a été vice-président pendant les 12 dernières années, n’a eu que deux comtés pour voter pour lui.
