Après la propagation de la rumeur faisant état de la mort du Président Condé dans la nuit du lundi au mardi courant, les journalistes ont été arrêtés et le signal de la radio Gangan qui a donné l’info a été brouillé. Les journalistes dont les patrons crient à l’acharnement sont Sakou Djamal Pendessa (rédacteur en chef), Mamadou Tanou Bah (son adjoint). Tous les deux ont été arrêtés par la gendarmerie de Yimbaya.
