Jean-Yves Le Drian, ministre français des Affaires étrangères, s’est rendu en Libye et était, ce lundi 4 septembre, à Tripoli pour relancer l’accord de La Celle-Saint-Cloud, près de Paris, signé le 25 juillet dernier, pour une sortie de crise libyenne. Avant son départ, Jean-Yves Le Drian avait annoncé que cette visite visait aussi à rencontrer les deux principaux acteurs constitutionnels dans le pays, Fayez al-Sarraj, Premier ministre au gouvernement d’union nationale et Khalifa Haftar, l’homme fort de l’Est libyen. Depuis l’accord, plusieurs développements se sont produits qui peuvent compliquer cette mission du ministre français.
