Mexico se réveille dans les décombres au lendemain d’un séisme meurtrier

Au moins 217 personnes ont perdu la vie, dont 86 dans la capitale mexicaine, selon un dernier bilan toujours provisoire du séisme qui a frappé Mexico et l’Etat de Morelos mardi 19 septembre.

Le séisme de magnitude 7,1 sur l’échelle de Richter, dont l’épicentre était situé à 130 km au sud-est de la capitale, a provoqué l’effondrement d’une cinquantaine d’immeubles dans la mégapole de 20 millions d’habitants. Au lendemain du puissant séïsme, le deuxième en deux semaines, les secours épaulés par des centaines de volontaires s’activent pour retrouver au plus vite des survivants.

A mesure que le temps passe, l’inquiétude monte concernant le sort des enfants de l’école Enrique Rebsamen de Mexico. Entre 30 et 40 écoliers seraient toujours prisonniers des décombres.
