L’équipe spéciale de l’Unesco dédiée à la question enseignante organise à Lomé son 10ème Forum annuel de Dialogue politique. Cette assise, ouverte mardi le 19 septembre dernier, et qui s’achève ce jeudi 21 septembre, a vu la participation d’une soixantaine de pays. Il s’agit pour les participants de réfléchir sur «ce qu’est un enseignant et qui l’on peut nommer enseignant?». D’où le choix du thème: «Enseigner, une profession?».
Les travaux ont permis de définir les compétences, les connaissances et les aptitudes que doit avoir un enseignant et qui doivent être développées chez un individu avant d’embrasser la profession. Des experts, enseignants, associations de parents d’élèves, organisations internationales et représentants de Gouvernement ont, en outre élaboré, des orientations stratégiques pour valoriser et améliorer les conditions de travail des enseignants.
Octave Nicoué-Broohm, Ministre togolais de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche qui a ouvert les travaux, s’est réjoui de la tenue ce Forum à Lomé. Cette assise répond aux attentes des autorités togolaises qui recherchent des solutions durables aux questions liées à la fonction enseignante. Il souhaite que les échanges soient renforcés sur la professionnalisation de l’enseignement vu que le secteur est en constante évolution.
