«Il est heureux, dit-il, que la Cour de Justice de la Cedeao se prononce ainsi» pour contrer «la volonté manifeste (de Macky Sall) d’attenter aux libertés de Khalifa Sall».
Cette victoire acquise, Bamba Dièye conseille à Khalifa Sall de déclarer sa candidature à la prochaine présidentielle de 2019.
La Cour de justice de la Cedeao juge arbitraire la détention de Khalifa Sall durant la période allant de son élection comme député à la levée de son immunité parlementaire. Aussi, la juridiction communautaire a condamné l’État du Sénégal à payer 35 millions de francs Cfa au maire de Dakar.
