  1. Good to hear that said. I have thought for years, off and on, that people who say that (unlike a carpenter, a cook, a music theory professor, etc.) a Zen teacher doesn’t TEACH, whereas all these other folks do, doesn’t know anything about teaching carpentry, cooking, music theory, etc. I’ve taught in universities for 25 years, and my observation is that people learn through what is still the apprenticeship system, and that there has to be an affinity with the craft and with the teacher. I’ve practiced Zen with various teachers for about 35 years, and I don’t see that much difference–Zen exceptionalism, as you put it.

  2. update from Kathy today, Jr’s wife:Pray for Ray, went to docs today, bloodwork good except for hemoglobin..he needs another transfusion on Friday..doc believes tumor is bleeding slowly. He goes for another scan on the 24th of this month(2 weeks). He gained 3 more pounds. Doc said again that he don’t understand, . He said, ” Ray you really do realize you are a walking miracle, it’s a mystery to me..”. He then asked if we are still using Essiac tea.. We said yes and he said good. +4Was this answer helpful?

  3. the german people largely opposed hitler. no majority ever wanted him in power, no one voted him into power… after the Nazi’s took over they were all too scared to oppose hitler. many just jumped on the bandwagon because they feared for their lives.

  4. There you go again Daniel, confusing the issue with facts! 😉 Ignorance and stupidity is its own punishment, whether it be Muslim or western liberal. Romney pointing out the effect of culture is the most salient observation by a politician in recent memory. Until recognition and adoption of proven ‘beneficial’ societal values is accepted as evolutionary adaptation… rather than as abandonment of societal identity, societal inequality both materially and as a measure of ‘quality of life’ will not only continue but widen and deepen.

  5. Like you, I am only just coming round to white florals so don’t have a firm favourite yet. I think Ormonde Jayne is the best brand for people who think they don’t like them. I love Champaca. Like you and others have mentioned, Mona’s Tubereuse is wonderful and it was quite a revelation when I tried it for the first time at Thomas’s talk. He also kindly gave me a sample of Rubj which I can’t wait to try. The only white florals I doubt I’ll never learn to love are gardenia or muguet, but never say never.

  6. OMG this is really cute. I love the punched edges and the design with the flower arrangement and lace makes it gorgeous. I really love the light shabby look with the stitching, butterfly and swirl. Thanks for playing at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge and good luck. Hope to see you back sunday for a new challenge. Bettina xx
