Dr SECK est Membre titulaire de l’Académie Mondiale des Sciences (TWAS)/section sciences agricoles, Membre de l’Académie d’Agriculture de France à titre étranger, Membre titulaire de l’Académie Africaine des Sciences (AAS)/section sciences agricoles, Membre titulaire de l’Académie des Sciences du Sénégal (ANSTS)/ section sciences agricoles.
Dr Papa Abdoulaye Seck est également Commandeur de l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole de France, Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur française, Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Lion du Sénégal, Officier de l’ordre national du Mérite du Sénégal, Co-lauréat de la Médaille commémorative des 70 ans de la FAO, Co-lauréat du prix T W Schultz, Médaillé d’honneur du Conseil Ouest et Centre Africain pour la Recherche et le Développement (CORAF/WECARD), Titulaire d’un Certificat de reconnaissance du Forum Africain de la Recherche Agricole (FARA), Lauréat d’un Prix des Nations Unies en qualité de Directeur Général d’AfricaRice.
Dr SECK dispose de plus de 100 publications scientifiques et a préfacé plus de 10 ouvrages sur l’agriculture africaine et mondiale.
Avant d’être nommé Ministre de l’Agriculture et de l’Equipement rural du Sénégal, Dr SECK a été Directeur Général d’AfricaRice qui est l’un des quinze (15) Centres Internationaux de Recherches Agricoles du Monde (CGIAR), après avoir occupé le poste de Directeur Général de l’Institut Sénégalais de Recherches Agricoles (ISRA).
