Lors d’un déplacement en Guadeloupe mardi, avant de se rendre dans les îles de Saint-Martin et Saint-Barthélemy dévastées par l’ouragan Irma la semaine passée, Emmanuel Macron s’est dit favorable à la mise en place d’une commission d’enquête parlementaire sur la gestion de cette catastrophe.
Jean-Luc Mélenchon (La France insoumise) et Éric Ciotti (LR) avaient réclamé une telle initiative.
Chaque assemblée peut, sur proposition d’un de ses membres, voter la création d’une commission d’enquête sur des faits concernant la gestion d’un service public, d’une entreprise nationale ou de questions de société.
D’une durée maximale de six mois, elle comprend des parlementaires de tous les groupes dans la limite de 30 députés et de 21 sénateurs. Parmi les thèmes récemment abordés, on compte les abattoirs, les moyens de lutte contre le terrorisme ou l’affaire Cahuzac.
Le rapport de la commission contient des recommandations adressées au gouvernement et peut déboucher sur une proposition de loi.
