Les querelles qui minent le Parti socialiste et qui ont abouti à son implosion ne sont rien d’autre qu’une forme de déni de la cohésion militante. Le parti fondé par le Président Léopold Sédar Senghor a certes connu des frictions le long de son existence. Mais ce que vit aujourd’hui cette formation politique est annonciateur de son déclin. Il est malaisé d’apprécier le bien fondé des querelles qui le minent en ce moment. En tout cas pour les pro-Tanor qui s’opposent aux pro-Khalifa, il est difficile de dire ce que les militants gagnent dans cette lutte fratricide entre anciens camarades. Au Sénégal où les partis politiques fonctionnent sous le système de la caporalisation, ils deviennent inopérants ou disparaissent à l’aune des conflits au sommet. C’est cela qui a éclaté l’Afp et implosé l’Aj/Pads. C’est aussi cela qui fait courir le Ps tout droit vers son déclin – sans oublier la Ld qui est sur le point de voler en éclat et le Rewmi qui perd de sa superbe du fait de démissions en cascade.
