FATOUMATA JALLOW TAMBAJANG La vice présidente gambienne Fatoumatta Jallow Tambajang a remporté le prix de la “Femme africaine de l’année” (2017 New african woman of the Year), décerné par le magazine panafricain NewAfrican Woman, selon l’Aps. La céré- monie de remise de ce trophée s’est déroulée mercredi soir à Dakar, à l’ouverture de l’édition 2017 du “New african woman forum (Nawf), qui se déroule pour la première fois en Afrique. Ce prix décerné à la vice-présidente gambienne a été remis à la directrice régionale de l’OngArticle 19 Fatou Jagne Senghor, au nom de Fatoumatta Tambajang, actuellement “au cœur d’un processus important” caractérisé par l’avènement d’une “nouvelle Gambie”. Selon Mme Senghor, la lauréate “symbolise l’unité” de la nation gambienne et constitue “un modèle pour lesfilles et les femmes de Gambie”, en prô- nant “le dialogue intergénérationnel” pour la restauration de ce pays enclavé dans le Sénégal.
