Khalifa Sall, en prison depuis mars dernier, soupçonné de détournements de deniers publics, est convoqué ce mercredi 22 novembre devant la commission de l’Assemblée nationale sénégalaise qui doit statuer sur la levée de son immunité parlementaire. Une convocation qui n’a aucun sens, selon ses avocats.
La lettre de convocation est datée du lundi 20 novembre et a été remise à Khalifa Sall le même jour. Elle est signée par Aymerou Gningue, le président de la commission de l’Assemblée nationale chargée de statuer sur l’immunité du député-maire.
La commission «doit vous entendre le mercredi 22 novembre à 17 heures sur la demande de levée de votre immunité formulée par Monsieur le Procureur de la République».
Le dernier paragraphe laisse également entendre que la commission pourrait statuer en l’absence de Khalifa Sall : «Conformément à l’article 52 de notre règlement intérieur, vous avez la possibilité de choisir, comme défenseur, un de vos collègues».
Une lettre qui a provoqué la colère des avocats de Khalifa Sall qui ont répondu au président de la commission en indiquant : «Cette lettre semblant tenir lieu de convocation est irrégulière, nulle et non avenue». Ils ont par ailleurs demandé, une fois de plus, sa libération immédiate.
Sur son compte Twitter, Khalifa Sall répondu à la commission ad hoc : «Je suis présentement dans les liens de la détention. Je ne suis donc pas libre de mes mouvements et je n’ai pas le droit de répondre à la convocation d’une autre personne autre qu’un juge».
