Le président du Sénégal Macky Sall ne « regrette pas que le président Abdoulaye Wade n’ai pas siégé ». Il estime, sur les onde de Rfi, que l’ancien président peut « continuer à donner de l’inspiration à ses partisans, et même au pays sans siéger à l’Assemblée nationale », dont la rentrée se déroule 14 septembre.
Macky Sall a appelé son ancien “boss” au dialogue : « Nous avons besoin de nous parler puisque nous avons forcément des sujets qu’il nous faut régler avant d’aller à l’élection présidentielle ».
Deux sujets en discussion
Macky Sall évoque notamment la question du « statut du chef de l’opposition », dont il faut « définir les modalités », ainsi que la « réglementation de la participation aux élections ». « On a vu lors des législatives avec 47 listes, le désordre que cela peut poser. On ne peut pas aller à la présidentielle avec autant de candidats ou une cinquantaine, on ne pourra plus voter » , indique-t-il. Il appelle donc l’opposition à discuter de ces deux sujets, « en toute responsabilité, et en démocrates ».
Reste à savoir si Abdoulaye Wade répondra positivement à cet appel au dialogue. Dans sa lettre de démission, l’ancien président de 91 ans a fustigé Macky Sall en écrivant que les résultats des législatives de juillet étaient « controversés ».
Avec 20 députés, la coalition d’Abdoulaye Wade reste la première force d’opposition au Sénégal.
