Dans le cadre du salon du tourisme, qui se tient à Paris jusqu’au 29 septembre 2017, le Ministre en charge du secteur, Mame Mbaye Niang, a été invité sur le plateau de France 24, pour parler de ce qui est appelé “l’opération séduction du Sénégal”. Est-ce que le nouveau ministre du Tourisme a bien défendu l’image du pays?
Il a en tout cas été à l’aise devant les questions du journaliste, jusqu’à ce que la personne de Khalifa Sall s’invite au jeu de question et réponse.
En effet, l’interviewer a tenu à savoir si l’emprisonnement du Maire de Dakar n’a pas des relents politiques. “(…) Incarcéré mais pas condamné, est-ce qu’il ne serait pas plus judicieux de sortir Khalifa Sall de prison”.
Devant cette question, Mame Mbaye Niang s’est voulu clair : “Khalifa Sall s’est retrouvé dans cette situation après un rapport de l’Inspection générale de l’Etat. Il l’ont épinglé par rapport à une caisse de trois millions d’Euro à peu près. Mais Khalifa n’a jamais dit que ce n’était pas lui. Il a parlé de pratique (…). Mais pour la bonne gouvernance, on ne peut pas laisser libre quelqu’un qui a présenté de fausses factures pour soutirer l’argent du contribuable”.
Quant aux complaintes des uns et des autres, le ministre du Tourisme a estimé que “s’il y a des voix qui s’élèvent ou pas, quand une personne prend l’argent public, quand il y a détournement de deniers publics, il faut procéder à un mandat de dépôt”.
