En visite à Touba à l’occasion de la célébration du Grand Magal de Touba, Me Abdoulaye Wade, Secrétaire général du Parti démocratique sénégalais (Pds) faisait savoir que le (nouveau) numéro 2 de sa formation politique n’est autre que Me Madické Niang. Ce qui a créé un débat autour d’une telle décision poussant d’aucuns à affirmer que le pape du Sopi venait de court-circuiter Oumar Sarr, battu au niveau de Dagana lors des dernières élections législatives du 30 juillet dernier.
Mieux encore, ils ont été nombreux à affirmer qu’Oumar Sarr, par une telle décision, Oumar Sarr paie la faute de n’avoir pas pu gérer comme il le fallait un parti fortement affaibli par des scissions. Cependant, Babacar Gaye, porte-parole du parti libéral avait très tôt dit que l’enfant de Dagana qui n’est autre que M. Sarr, restait numéro 2 de leur formation politique.
Ce qu’a confirmé Me Madické Niang qui défendu ceci depuis Touba : «Je ne suis pas le numéro 2 du Parti démocratique sénégalais». Non sans insister sur le fait qu’il est de loin le plan B du Pds en direction de la présidentielle de 2019 si Karim Wade restait encore en exil «forcé».
