Au lendemain de la libération de Karim Wade le 24 juin 2016, le ministre de la Justice, Me Sidiki Kaba, avait affirmé lors d’une conférence de presse qu’il n’y avait pas au Sénégal ‘’une justice à deux vitesses’’. A ce titre, le Garde des Sceaux avait avancé que toutes les célébrités en liberté provisoire verraient leurs procédures aller jusqu’au bout. Mais dix mois après cette annonce, le constat est tout autre. Décryptage !
‘’Des VIP qui obtiennent des libertés provisoires qui deviennent définitives, rassurez-vous, les procès sont en cours. Nous avons été mobilisés par des procès qui nous ont pris trois ans (Karim Wade, Hissein Habré). Mais l’année à venir, tous ces cas, que ça soit des guides religieux ou toutes ces personnes énumérées seront jugés.’’ Ces propos tenus par le ministre de la Justice, Me Sidiki Kaba, le 24 septembre dernier à l’émission ‘’ Grand jury’’ de la RFM, sont encore frais dans les mémoires. Parce qu’ils semblaient dissiper un soupçon d’impunité en faveur de plusieurs célébrités en maille à partir avec la Justice.
Un soupçon qui a été renforcé par la grâce présidentielle accordée à Karim Wade. Le fils de l’ex-Président avait été condamné définitivement en août 2015 par la Cour suprême à six ans de prison ferme pour enrichissement illicite assortie d’une amende de 138 milliards de francs CFA. Cependant, l’ancien ministre d’Etat n’a purgé que la moitié de sa peine. Et au lendemain de sa libération, le Garde des Sceaux lançait à qui voulait l’entendre qu’il n’y avait pas de ‘’justice à deux vitesses’’ et que toutes les procédures enclenchées contres des célébrités iraient jusqu’au bout, malgré le fait que ces dernières soient en liberté provisoire.
