À Yeumbeul, la grève des élèves des lycées et des collèges a pris une tournure déplorable. De violents affrontements ont opposé les élèves du public à leurs camarades du privé. Les pensionnaires du Cem Momar Marième Diop à Yeumbeul Nord, qui sont descendus dans la rue pour dénoncer les grèves répétées des enseignants, ont délogé les élèves des écoles privées qui suivaient tranquillement leurs cours. Mais au niveau de l’école privée Seydi Djamil, la situation a débordé. Les élèves de cet établissement ont apporté la riposte à leurs camarades.
S’en sont suivis des échanges de jets de pierre. Le bilan fait état d’un blessé grave. Il s’agit d’une femme qui officierait à l’école privée, qui a été blessée. «J’ai vu une dame blessée. Elle saignait. Elle a été conduite à l’hôpital de Pikine», explique notre informateur. Pendant une vingtaine de minutes les potaches ont semé panique et confusion à Yeumbeul, barrant la route de Boune, précisément à hauteur du célèbre arrêt «Diouma Peulh Fouta».
