Y’a-t’il équité envers les frères chrétiens ? C’est la question qui se pose en ce mois béni de Ramadan. Les choix religieux sont personnels. Mais cela ne semble pas être le cas chez nous Sénégalais. En cette période de l’année musulmane, tout marche au rythme des jeuneurs. Alors que, hormis nos amis catholiques, il y a des musulmans qui ne pratiquent pas le jeûne. Pour une raison ou une autre. Et ne parlons pas des enfants qui ne sont pas en âge d’observer une sévère diète.
Mais quel est le sort réservé à ces derniers ? Une vie d’enfer, pire que la privation. Ces gens sont ligotés par le jugement des « pieux », frôlant en passant un état de sous- alimentation. C’est grave ! Les commerces marchent au ralenti, on ne cuisine presque plus dans les foyers, puisque ce sont les restes d’aliments qui sont de mise à l’heure habituelle du déjeuner…
Il faut le dire et le rappeler, les musulmans ne partagent pas les mêmes mœurs que les frères chrétiens et autres païens. Pourquoi leur imposer un changement drastique de comportement alimentaire du jour au lendemain, mettant de côté les notions de laïcité et fermant les yeux sur leurs convictions intimes ? on se permet même parfois, au-delà du regard méprisant, de proférer des propos incommodants. Dieu n’encourage pas ces comportements défaillants de la part d’observateurs du jeûn.
Le saint Coran invite à se consacrer à sa religion et répète qu’il n’y a nulle contrainte en matière de religion : à nous de savoir laisser aux autres le choix qui est le mieux indiqué pour eux. Et puis, c’est dans la contradiction que les choses prennent sens. L’endurance, c’est aussi la capacité à cohabiter avec des personnes de mœurs étrangères, tout en gardant sa foi. Au nom du pacifisme, qui est esprit de paix et salut.
