Depuis mardi, l’hôpital ré- gional, Heinrich Lübke de Diourbel, organise des consultations oculaires gratuites, accompagnées parAma (Agence des musulmans d’Afrique). Selon le directeur de l’hôpital, DrAmadou Dieng, l’objectif final c’est de pouvoir opérer 200 personnes souffrant de cataracte au niveau de la population de Diourbel, et également, au niveau des populations environnantes. 134 cas ont été atteints, pour deux jours, a-t-il informé. Il pense que l’objectif de 200 maladessera atteint, aujourd’hui. Leur engagement, pour la santé oculaire, a confié le directeur de l’hôpital, estsans conteste. Il rappelle que rien qu’en 2016, en termes d’investissement, l’État a consenti à hauteur de 13 millions Cfa par rapport à ce service. Ce qui a permis aujourd’hui,s’est-ilréjoui, d’avoir un plateau technique assez acceptable par rapport à ce service. Ces efforts, ils comptent les continuer l’année prochaine, a-t-il promis, pour consentir des investissementssupplémentaires sur l’échographie oculaire à hauteur de 8 millions Cfa. Ce qui, dit-il, va permettre de comparer ce service à ceux de Dakar et autres parsa modernité. Le suivi des malades, a-t-il rassuré, sera fait par l’hôpital. Cette initiative, a-t-il faitsavoir, a été prise vu que l’hôpital, a-til signalé, est un service public qui accompagne la politique du ministère de la Santé et de l’action sociale en santé oculaire. Et vu l’importante demande sentie auprès de leurs services, elle ne peut être satisfaite, par manque de praticiens, pour pouvoir être répondue. C’est pour cela, pour accompagner les populations, at-il avisé, il était important d’organiser ces portes ouvertes avec l’Ong Ama qui est venue leur prêter main forte pour rendre la vision à ces populations. Dr Amadou Dieng, directeur de l’hôpital, à l’occasion, invite toutes les populations à venir se faire consulter pour voir s’ils sont atteints de cataracte et profiter de cette opportunité que leur offre l’hôpital. Pour El Hadji Sall, le représentant de l’OngAma, ilssont à Diourbel en campagne de lutte contre la cataracte, qui a débuté du 11 au 15 avril, et pour opérer gratuitement ceux qui souffrent de cette maladie oculaire. Ainsi, il appelle toutes les populations à venir en masse se faire ausculter et se faire soigner s’il le faut. Pour Dr Khalifat Ababacar Bâ, opérateur de cataracte, chef de service du service Ophtalmo de l’hôpital, Heinrich Lübke de Diourbel, leur objectif c’est d’atteindre les 200 cas escomptés ; et il rassure que pour le moment, toutse passe bien et que les malades continuent d’affluer.
