C’est l’émoi et la consternation aux Hlm Grand Yoff. Un bébé de 20 moisrépondant au nom de Serigne Saliou Mbacké Sylla a trouvé la mort dans des conditions atroces. Il a été mortellementfauché par un véhicule.Le drame a eu lieu le samedi dernier. Le chauffeur, un certain Latyr Diouf, a été interpellé par les éléments de laBrigade de gendarmerie de la Foire avant d’être présenté ce lundi au parquet du procureur. Après son face-à-face avec le maître des poursuites, il a été inculpé d’homicide involontaire. Mais le parquet n’a pas jugé nécessaire de le placer sous mandat de dépôt. Malgré la gravité des faits qui lui sont reprochés, il a bénéficié d’une liberté provisoire. C’est la raison pour laquelle il a comparu libre hier, lors de son procès devant la barre du Tribunal des flagrants délits de Dakar. Les faits étant constants, le représentant du ministère public a demandé au Tribunal d’appliquer la loi dans toute sa rigueur à l’encontre du prévenu. Le juge pénal, après en avoir délibéré conformément à la loi, a reconnu le sieur Latyr Diouf coupable desfaits qui luisont reprochés. Et pour la répression, l’a condamné à 6 mois de prison dont un mois ferme. Le Tribunal a également infligé une amende de 100.000 Cfa au prévenu et a ordonné dans la foulée, la confiscation pour une durée de 3 mois de son permis de conduire. Avant ce procès, bébé Serigne Saliou Mbacké Sylla avait déjà été inhumé. Sa maman inconsolable est toujours sous le coup du choc. Elle a même été internée dans une clinique de la place. Le défunt bébé était son fils aîné.
