Thione Seck trouve “normal” la concurrence qui existe entre Youssou Ndour et son fils Waly Seck. “Entre Youssou Ndour et Waly, il ne peut y avoir de concurrence”.

Dans l’entretien qu’il a accordé au journal Vox Populi, lu par Actunet, le leader du groupe Ram Dann n’a pas mis de gants pour demander à son fils, Waly Seck d’arrêter de parler de Youssou Ndour.
« Les gens ont le droit de donner leurs avis, leurs visions contraires. Parce que l’homme est le remède de l’homme, même si l’homme est le poison de l’homme aussi. Ce que disent les uns et les autres n’engagent qu’eux. Moi, j’ai dit à Waly stop, tu as assez parlé de ton papa Youssou Ndour », a-t-il souligné.
Pour les raisons de cette « mesure », Thione Sec explique : « Tu as fait des soirées en faisant de lui le parrain, il n’est pas venu. Tu as fait aussi Bercy en faisant de lui le parrain, il l’a vu d’une autre manière. Même à ton anniversaire, tu lui as fait l’honneur d’être le parrain. Maintenant, ça suffit. Youssou Ndour est ton père, respecte le en tant que père comme tu l’as toujours fait. Fait ton chemin. Et Basta ! », a ajouté Thione Seck.
Le leader du groupe Ram Dann dit avoir conseillé à son fils que Youssou Ndour n’influe pas sur sa carrière. «C’est Dieu qui a fait de tout ce que tu es aujourd’hui», dira-t-il.
